Simultaneous exploration and exploitation (i.e., exploration–exploitation) can help a firm address short-term environmental requirements ensure long-term viability. Exploration–exploitation, however, challenges organisational practices because they compete for resources time. While business analytics (BA) offers the potential to overcome these challenges, research date very limited insights into how BA capabilities interact with ambidextrous realise value. We this issue by conducting comparative case study at bank real-estate trust through theoretical lens of dynamic capabilities. develop process model explain powers achieve sustainability outcomes over uncover two mechanisms: BA-powered context shaping mechanism which contextual ambidexterity employee level using data availability, timeliness, culture; resource linking structural intra- inter-organisational levels holistic leadership. Our highlights factors that condition extent moves along continuum exploration–exploitation. also define new dimension we label eco-awareness shapes employees' alertness enables paradigm shift in an organisation's mindset.
